Delivering a Soil and Rock Description Workshop for Cormac
Last week, our Principal Engineering Geologist Ed Crimp delivered a Soil and Rock Description workshop for the GeoConsultancy Services team at Cormac, a Cornwall Council company.
The workshop combined:
Lectures on current British Standards, including the application of BS 5930
Training in logging and descriptive processes
Hands-on sessions with a variety of soil samples
It was fantastic to see such a multidisciplinary team fully engaged in the training, including Engineering Geologists, Mining Engineers, Assistant and Lead Drillers, Site and Lab Technicians, Ecologists and Geotechnical Design Consultants.
A great example of collaboration and knowledge-sharing across disciplines to strengthen geotechnical expertise. Ed will return in the coming weeks to deliver further training on the engineering description of rock.
