Our Commercial and Contract Managers never have a dull day. Whether it's liaising with suppliers and subcontractors, visiting various sites around the country or travelling to meetings at our Clients' offices, there is a lot to squeeze into the working week!
Each enquiry presents a challenging puzzle to solve: How long will it take? What plant can I use? What is the access like? What are the ground conditions? Using our 50+ years of archive site investigation data, BGS logs and maps, memoirs and desk study information as well as personal experience, the Commercial Managers plan and price all of our projects. You will learn about finance, contract law, CDM regulations and so much more.
Maybe contract management is your passion? From contract award to completion the Contract Manager is responsible for planning, organising, running and delivering contracts to our Clients on time, to spec and on budget. You will learn about legislation and regulations, commercial finance, accounting and project management.
With the help of a specialised team to offer advice on transport, health and safety, maintenance, operations, HR and finance, you will have all the help and support you need to make sure we fulfil our obligations. You will liaise with our operational drilling, engineering, technical and laboratory departments to provide service excellence and feel the satisfaction of a job well done.
If you enjoy getting the best out of people and want to make a difference why not make a move into management? If you have high professional standards, show the right leadership qualities and have the right attitude you may be an ideal candidate to head up one of our operational, commercial or support teams.
You will be provided with a structured management and leadership training plan and be actively encouraged to participate in self-development and CPD to enhance your skills. You may also gain nationally recognised management qualifications.
Primarily responsible for the management of people, plant and/or equipment, you will play a crucial role in the planning and progression of the strategic direction of the Company.
One of the less well known but vital parts of our business is our Support Team, who help the commercial and operations team run effectively and efficiently. Whether your skills lie in administration, logistics, maintenance, plant fitting, marketing or accounting this could be the career move you are looking for!
